This fine beer was named after our Captain’s hero, Captain Frederick Pabst, a pioneer in the young American brewing industry and a true American hero in the eyes of any brewer. Captain Fred is crisp and refreshing, a true American Lager. The nose is clean with the slight hint of mild hops. the flavor is smooth and refreshing, balanced well between malt and hops. Finishing crisp as your palate begs for more.

I think this is on tap for the non-micro drinker. A weak pils with no real aroma, a clean yet grassy flavor with a tiny bit of hops. Not worth trying with everything else they have on tap.

A rather boring style to put on tap but that's just my opinion. Pours a clear golden colour with a little white head. Very malty, and a bit sour. Corn, lemon and grass on the palate. Aroma is of grains and lemon.
