I don't think I've ever poured a beer with such a big thick white head. After it settled down and I could taste it.i thought it tasted a little funky from all the citrus. If there is such a thing as Dry beer this is it.

Something wrong with my bottle too. It poured ALL head in two different glasses. Once all the carbonation is forced out the beer looses it's dimensions. Glimpses of what the beer is supposed to be comes through and I'm anxious to try it again and revise me review.

The nose on this thing is immense, alive and bold right outta the glass. It reminded me of hennepin but fresher and fruitier. That is where the comparison stops though, a strong Belgian with decent bitterness and dry finish, not a bad offering but no hennepin.

Bottle. A billowing off white head tops a very pretty deep brass orange colored brew. There is a nice leathery nose with some typical brett funk. It is not fishy, but reminds me of the smell of fresh oysters, like the ocean.There is also some nice citrus behind the sea smells. This taste like a funky light leathery orange rind. There is some note of dandelions in the aftertaste. Highly carbonate,d but otherwise, very smooth. Another solid winner from Green Flash.

Fruity aroma has a yeasty overtone and a malty underpinning. Pours a pretty clear amber with a very thick and fluffy eggshell head. Sharp flavor is fruity and a little sour, with malty and yeasty undertones and a hint of woody hops. Smooth, firm texture has a subtle but persistent tingle and leaves a fruity, slightly hoppy finish. Overall, decent.

I must have a bad bottle. Blood orange in color. No head is the evidentiary point. Not sure what to make of the nose and taste. Really stale. Going to toss what is left

12oz bottle. Pours a hazy copper amber with a big rocky off-white head that retains well and laces the glass.

The aroma is bready malts with spicy earthy yeasty notes and a touch of brett as it warms.

The flavor is subdued - watery earthy malts and a little fruit with spicy floral hops that linger in the aftertaste. The mouthfeel is medium bodied and watery with lots of sharp carbonation.

Overall, I haven't really liked the Belgian IPAs, and this is not a great rendition of one (watery, subdued). I didn't pick up much brett - a little came out as it warmed.

From stoutlover in a recent BABOB. Clear light copper pour, tall white head, sustained, leaving all kinds of lacing. Wonderful aromas of funky Belgian yeasts, floral and rather assertive hops, sweet honeysuckle, orange zest, spices. Big flavor too - Cory was spot on with the Orval-ness of this beer. Belgian, honeysuckle, sweet, funky, fruity, zesty. Very very tasty. HUGE thanks to Garrett for this beauty.

Two words....Affordable Orval. Green Flash has captured what Goose Island used to have in their 2006 and earlier Matilda, which is essentially an Orval clone. Deep copper body with a billowing, rocky white head and thick coating of lace. Bretty aroma of four string funk and citrus. Big spicy bitterness with lemongrass, orange peel, dry doughy malt and that all too familiar horse blanket. Bone dry and mildly tart with a satisfying finish. The beer drinks with comfortable ease and produces a quenching satisfaction. Well done Green Flash.

I think I found my new summertime IPA. If Beverages & More continues to carry this incredible elixer, then I will continue to purchase because it has everything I love in a nice IPA. The only thing better would be if they made it more.

The beer starts out with a clear "hiss" and gas escaping as the cap is pulled off, looking like the lid of an ancient Egyptian sarcophagus had just been lifted after 3,000 years of solitude. The beer pours out a light amber color, crystal clear. Tight bubbles form at the base, and as the beer reaches mid-glass a rather large, pillowy head forms. So much so, that when the beer glass is emptied into my glass, a 2" head has formed above the glass, sitting there like a contorted sculpture from a brewers dream. The head has incredible staying power, like a meringue of a pie made in the hands of a master chef.

The aroma coming from the glass starts out rather tame. Light lemongrass, very floral, smells a little like grass or weeds when it gets wet. But after some time to let the head die down, and let the temp warm up a bit is when the aroma really comes thru. Strong phenols, medium spicy notes, a touch of funky-leather-jacket-rubbed-with-lemon-zest and much more farmhouse saison notes than a traditional American/WC pale ale.

The first few sips of this hammered me with statement "this aint no sweet East Cost pale ale/IPA". Bone dry due no doubt to the brett swimming around in this beer chomping on any molecule of sugar it meets. The tartness left behind in it's aggressive wake, along with the lemony-funky nature of brett, the earthy/straw-like, bitter apple peppery-ness just melds incredibly well together. Not for those that like sweet beers, its decidedly Belgian in it's approach with a unique American twist on it from the masters at Green Flash. Just a clean, bright, funky treat that was made for beer geeks like me. Thank you Green Flash, for always keeping me in mind...lol.
