“There’s a lot going on in this beer with two yeast strains, copious amounts of wheat malt, and a big focus on ‘C’ hops to deliver a citrus explosion,” explains Green Flash Brewmaster, Chuck Silva. “In fact we lined up more than a dozen hop varieties in the brewery to select three hops with the biggest citrus character to dry hop the beer. “This golden beer pours with beautiful, frothy white beer foam that lasts due to bottle conditioning. Gently rousing the yeast that settles in the bottle will result in a fuller texture and a more cloudy white appearance. The citrus aromas that jump from the glass are largely tangerine up front with other types of citrus notes that mingle with the Belgian yeast esters. Hop flavors of bitter orange zest dominate the brew and linger to the finish with a nice play of American and Belgian yeast combo.” A beer with so many components can be held together with a “Linchpin”. The official “Linchpin” of this beer is the skillful collaboration between the two breweries to create a unique hop-forward brew. Linchpins are symbolic: two simple shapes that combine to strengthen a bond amongst many different pieces.

Aroma is hoppy and yeasty with a sweet citrus hint, not strong but still appealing. Pours a slightly hazy bright yellow with a thick, fluffy, white head. Flavor has a hoppy and rather bitter core, with woody, yeasty and orange tones. Bitterness plus a little citrus sourness equals the drinker making faces! Firm, smooth texture has a decent amount of fizz, leaving a hoppy, yeasty, bitter finish. A bold and distinctive IPA for the strong of heart - and taste buds.

a style that I am really starting to enjoy, from two GREAT brewers. Should be good :) The aroma at first was actually a little strange. Fruitiness above hopiness, and not all coriander and orange. It opens up VERY nicely, has good body, and a dry yeasty hoppy finish. The wit characterisitics are really understated but add complexity to an already good ipa, and make this beer thoroughly refreshing. Glad I got two!

Sampled on 5/12/2012. This India Pale Ale pours a hazy orange gold color from a 22oz bottle. Medium to large sized white foamy head with good retention and nice lacing. The aroma is fruity, sweet, yeasty and hoppy. A medium bodied IPA. The malts are fruity and sweet, yeasty and estery. The hops are citrusy and grapefruity. Decent carbonation. Yeasty, dry and estery with a nice hop bite. Interesting beer. Mouthfeel is full and round. Finish is clean and smooth. Aftertaste is dry and yeasty.

Bottle from recent oHIo beerrun. Light golden yellow pour, regular white head, some lacing. Floral and honeysuckle aroma, some maltiness, citrus zest, slight yeasties. Nice bitter taste upfront, floral and citrus, then malts and slight funky yeasts to offset, citrus fruits, flavorful brew. Nice bitter linger.
