Live long and drink Cosmic Ristretto. This highly revered brew will go down in history as one of the first graduates of our Genius Lab program into our front line. Marvel at its rich black appearance with bruleed edges and mocha-colored beer foam. Breathe in its coffee aroma and sweet malts, and savor its smooth, espresso, chocolate flavor. Don’t fight its gravitational pull. This bold, complex, java-centric Baltic Porter with Espresso is irresistible. Houston, we have a problem, my glass is empty.

How come this is called Black Lager? Anyhoo, it pours a barely translucent chocolate brown with a fairly thick light tan head. Aroma delivers quality coffee, chocolate, roasted malt, charred hops and molasses tones. I’m going totally Pavlov! Flavor nicely echoes the aroma but with more smoke and charcoal. Sweetness is subtle and pleasing. Mouthfeel delivers fairly firm body and good fizz. Don’t ristretto yourself, go cosmic!

Good roasted malt base, almost burnt coffee, some sweet milk and dark chocolate. Espresso and milk chocolate aroma. Nice dark colour but head thins too quickly. Medium smooth mouthfeel. This is almost a perfect breakfast beer.
