Slightly full bodied rich brown ale. Caramel chocolate maltiness makes this satisfying dark ale a year round favorite.

On tap at the brewpub in St. Paul: Big full bodied brew, unfiltered with a creamy beige top. Caramel, chocolate and dates on the nose. Sweet creamy mouthfeel with caramel and bready malt flavors.

Sampled a pint, served in a Great Waters glass at the brewpub. Dark brown in color, lots of carbonation. Thin, off white head, that looked nice but didn't last. Lots of malty caramel smell. Full flavored taste of caramel and roasted malt, quite sweet with just a touch of hop in the background. Also some taste of molasses and nuts. Medium bodied, sweet and sticky, yet still creamy. Not the best brown I have had, but it is right up there. Glad I had a chance to try this one.

Nice and smooth. Very dark sweet taste. Reminded me of Newcastle but with a lot more body and spirit.
