Based on our award-winning beer, Denver Pale Ale, this copper-hued treat is a celebration of everything Great Divide does best. Plenty of malty sweetness provides a backdrop of earthy, floral English and American hops, while French and American oak round off the edges and provide a touch of vanilla. Thanks to everyone who's supported us for the last 17 years--here's to 17 more! 10.0% ABV.

Bottled March 30/2011. Don’t know what this tastes like fresh but it sure tastes good now. Clear copper colour pour. Thick dense head lasts and leaves great lacing. Sweet malt, and oak aroma. Sweet caramel start to the flavour. Oak really stands out. Mild grapefruit, lemon, floral and pepper. Full, smooth, oily, mouthfeel. Alcohol warmth is present. Didn’t age this beer intentionally but it worked out anyway.

Sampled on 7/7/2012. This imperial IPA pours a medium dark copper color from a 22oz bottle. Small to medium sized white foamy head. The aroma is fruity, cereal and sweet with a touch of wood. A medium bodied Double IPA. The malts are fruity, caramel and sweet. The hops are grapefruity, citrusy and floral. A hint of wood. Nice balance. Very smooth tasting. Good carbonation. Nice mix of wood, hops and malts. Touch of residual sweetness at the finish. Mouthfeel is full and round. Finish is clean and smooth. Aftertaste is slightly bitter

Another of my acquisitions from Charleston... pours deep, cloudy amber-copper with no head to speak of. Lacing is off the chain. Rich deep woodsy-earthy nose and similar flavors. A hint of the piney resin and a raisen-like flavor that was unexpected, but nice.

I had this at the Green Dragon in Portland 2 weeks ago. Copper color without much head and ok lacing. Citrus hop aroma with pine. Medium body well balanced. Not anything spectular but good. nice caramel sweetness.

Pours a pretty, tempting clear mahogany with a decent, frothy pale beige head. Aroma is fairly strong, mainly yeasty and a little hoppy with malty and fruity hints. Flavor is - WOW, seriously hoppy and yeasty, a little fruity and woody, with more than a hint of anchovies, but the last part is not at all repulsive - it will make you take notice! Texture is sharp and fizzy, leaving a lip-smacking hoppy and woody but surprisingly not at all bitter finish. If you like your IPAs lively and distinctive, this is for you!

A murky amber colored beer with a huge frothy textured, light beige head rising robustly above. Great hang time on this one. Settle, eventually into a thick soapy-creamy ringlet atop the body and thick splotches of film aside the glass. Woodsy, pine, grapefruit notes in the nose and much more so on the tongue. Well crafted and delicious in a medium body.

Nice. Pours copper with a low thin tan head ring. Great lacing. Aroma is sweet malt and a bit of hops. Mouthfeel has a nice balance. Flavor is a bit smoky backed with sweet.
