I tried this beer on April 25, 2008 at "Smokeless Joe's" in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. The beer poured a solid orangy-gold colour with a very thin white head. The aroma was that of sweet malt and some yeast. The mouthfeel was medium-bodied, and highly carbonated. The flavour was candied malt, some hoppy grapefruity hints, and a little more yeast. A very good beer.

Pours minimal head that quickly goes away and just leaves a very thin coating. Has a slightly cloudy golden appearance. Aromas are pretty yeasty, breads, citrus hops and light roasted malts. Flavours are strong citrus hops, yeast, raisins, lemon and orange peel. A little bit of spices too. Has a yeasty tingling mouthfeel. A slight warming sensation. Full bodied. Really smooth and goes down pretty easy for a 9%abv beer.

More Carolus at the LCBO... awesome ! Pours a slight hazy golden-yellow colour with a frothy white cap, good retention and soapy lacing. Nice aromas of green apples and pears with citrus notes and mild Belgian Ale yeast. Cannot feel the alcohol much, wet mouthfeel. Mild fruit taste with more of the apples, some light spices and soothing yeast. One of the easier drinking Tripel.

Fine taste of barley and hops. It has a golden color and pure white foam head. Nice bitter, nice aftertaste. Rich top-fermented well balanced taste. (Velp 201112)

750 ml corked and wired bottle, from Vinmonopolet. ABV is 9.0%. Very pale yellow colour, huge white head. Strong fruity, yeasty and spicy (cloves a.o.) aroma. The flavour is spicy with some fruit and white kandij sugar, but the sweetness is nearly too much. Still a good beer, but if it is worth the high price in Norway is debatable.

From Galleries Lafayette (Paris). Poured a massive and lively white head over a cloudy, light gold body. Great lacing from the head. aroma is spicy, biscuity, and fruity; also some yeast. Mouthfeel was very smooth; flavour was spices, fruits, and yeast, and the high ABV did not hide. Sweet finish.

Woah! Pours typical golden good with white head. Aroma is outstanding: Gobs of sweet light fruit and floral notes. Mouthfeel has sweet fruit and pepper. Beautiful. Flavor is sweet fruit and a pepper back, this is just an outstanding example of the style. Sweet and spice, sweet and spice.

golden ale with a LOT of foamy white head. cool aroma of yeasty fruit and spice with a litle vanilla. flavor the same. light but flavorful and complex. the prickliness takes away a little and I do think this is a little overrated as a top 200 beer, but it's very nice.

Best described as "complex". Rich flavor with sparkle on the tongue carbonation. Decidedly different, an interesting beverage, best consumed by its self.

I've had one of the beers from this brewery before, so I wanted to jump at the chance to try another. It has a golden yellow color and a light filmy head. Smells like bread/bicuits and spice (like pepper). The mouthfeel is a little thick. Tastes very peppery and there is some light fruitiness under that. The aftertaste is really dry. Enjoyable, but a slow-drinker.
