Boy howdy it's cold out side and this brew comes in while I'm six bottles into a good night.its dark brown with a tiny head . The aroma is of just another good beer. The mouthfeel is pretty damn good. The taste is good enough to have again.

Dark ruby with light brown lacing foam head. Aroma is sweet caramel with nutty tones. Taste is sweet, some small biiterness, nuts and riasty. Long lasting aftertaste, turning more bitter. (Velp 201402)

Black licorice, figs, spices, and prunes hit the senses right away. A perfect swirling tan head on top of a plum colored body with thick lacing. Medium bodied, soft and sweet with a long drawn out finish. Nice Belgian yeastiness, dry sugar coupled with dark fruits and mild spices. An exceptional winter offering.

A much spicier beer than I was expecting, almost like the spiced pumpkin beers from last month. This one has so many subtle flavors that all come together so well. It's very well made and one I will look for every year.

Arich, tasty Christmas beer. Spice-heavy in the aroma. with the flavor having a little more bready earthiness. Still spicy, with some dark fruit shining through. The yeast is there, but restrained, like i like it. Good stuff.

As a Gouden Carolus Christmas. 750 ml corked and caged bottle. Poured in the original Gouden Carolus goblet a hazy dark brown-red coloured ale with a two fingers tan creamy foamy head that had a very long retention and tons of micro bubbles. Good carbonation. Good lacing. The aroma is rich, spicy, licorice, flowery, fresh mint, roasted malts, molasses, fruity, ripe raisins, plums. The flavor is a solid malty base spicy, a lot of licorice, nutmeg, ginger, brown sugar and fruity, dark ripe fruits, raisins, plums, figs . The mouthfeel is crispy, creamy, spritzy , very smooth and get the expected (10.5°) warming effect. This full bodied ale has a lingering ripe fruits finish. A perfect warming brew for the winter coldest days and evenings !

Beautiful beer on tap at the Malt House, wouldn't mind having a few of these: Pours a muddy dark copper colour with medium beige head. Aroma is very pleasent. Rich and full of many spices, carmel, oak and butterscotch. Taste hits you initially of some sort delectable treat- like a desert your mum would make. And then it smoothes out with the grape and caramel apple flavours finishing it off. Soft chocolate and raisin notes underlying the taste.

This one pours a dark, semi-translucent brown, definitely a good start. Aroma is strong, sharp and more like a good rum than a beer. Biting flavor is fruity, syrupy, sweet but not cloying. Texture is smooth and yet rough and strongly fizzy, biting the tongue and leaving a finish like an angry tomcat scratching on its way down.

This beer was a nice treat....an semi-clear reddish brown with a generous tan head started off this treat with nice fruit and malt tones in the aroma profile. A complex flavour of caramel malt, spices, and dark fruit helped this chest warmer go down.
