Expected a little better from a brewery that I have enjoyed so far. Appearance needs some work. The aroma is like an oyster stout and it has a watery mouthfeel. The flavour is mild roasted malt and smoke. I'm sure normal service will resume shortly.

Decent but not at all worth the coin I payed ($13 a bottle from Kensignton Wine Market in Calgary). Slightly watery flat guiness is the first impression. Something sweet about it, for the dutch among us: like Mentos "Drop", for canadians, mentos with liquorce in them. Lemony hops, trace. Seems to be a hybrid of a brit/east coast stout. Light brown head lasts and looks really good. Red Delicioous apples surprised me. Very unique aroma, some rose petals and icing sugar, im really clutching at straws trying to isolate the predominatant aroma here......... pot pourri!! thats is! the beer is a bit sweet, like an air freshner! good though this beer might not make it sound so...

A bit of a letdown. Only 4.6%, and it shows in this being a weak assed stout. Nice colour with it being black and all, small tan head, but the thinness is apparent. Aroma is roasted malt, some licorice, and chocolate. Flavour is the same, and thin.

Bottle: Poured a opaque black colored stout with a nice foamy head with OK retention and some lacing. Aroma is dominated by roasted coffee notes with dry undertones. Taste is also a nice enough mix between some roasted coffee and light black chocolate. Not the most complex beer but well enough brewed and easily drinkable. Body has light creamy texture with good carbonation.

One of the bottles I have been saving from a trade, finally had a chance to crack this one open. 341 ml brown bottle, label as above. Looks like a great stout, pitch black color with a brown head. Foam lasts forever and leaves nice thick lace trails. Smell is filled with coffee, chocolate and cocoa. ther earthy tones. Rich flavors, including chocolate and coffee. Roasted grain and some smokiness, a nice touch of bitterness at the end. As mentioned by other, the mouthfeel might be a bit thin, but hardly something to complain about. Still smooth and a bit creamy. One of Garrison's better beers I have had the priveledge of trying. Thanks for the trade and the chance to drink this one.

Bonus points for apperance and historical contents. A very very dark stout. Decent black apperance, no head or carbination to speak off, just a very dark stout. Very bitter but mellows out, with hints of caramel on the aftertaste. Very nice
