Funkwerks Peach Whiskey Barrel Aged King
Funkwerks Peach Whiskey Barrel Aged King
Rated 3.000 by BeerPalsOur Imperial Saison was brewed with New Zealand Rakau hops, giving this taproom favorite aromas of passion fruit, mango, and peach. After aging Tropic King in peach whiskey barrels with various wild organisms for a year, these tropical fruit characteristics are now balanced by spicy vanilla notes from the barrels and the earthy dryness of Brettanomyces.

750 ml bottle, bottled 12/13/13. Pours clear orange amber with a smallish creamy white head that goes to a thin film and leaves a little lacing.
The aroma is lots of sweet and acidic peach with some earthy alcohol.
The flavor is sweet peach with earthy acidic brett and a bit of boozy alcohol. The mouthfeel is a little thin and watery.
Overall, a bit thin and boozy. but I like the peach added to the tropic king.
