The 2012 Vintage Ale, our 16th, is brewed with three of this year''s finest hop varieties including, Goldings, award winning Sovereign and Target hops. These combined with our unique yeast and organic barley grown by Sir James Fuller on the Neston Park Estate result in a wonderful limited edition brew that has a luxurious flavour. Individually packed and numbered, this bottle is one of one hundred and twenty five thousand produced. Although we are obliged to state a best before date of 2015, like a fine wine or whisky, this mellow golden ale will improve with age for many more years. Being bottle conditioned, the beer will for a natural sediment; so pour carefully, sit back, and enjoy this, the very finest of Fuller''s ales.

500 ml bottle in cardboard box, Cardinal Pub & Bar, Stavanger. Bottle No. 35525. ABV is 8.5%. Amber to copper colour, moderate head, slightly off-white. Fairly strong aroma of malts, toffee, raisins and oak. Medium sweet and malty flavour, very pleasant, notes of toffee and raisins again, some oak and moderate hops in the background. Might still develop further with cellaring, but is well worth drinking now.

Bottle #92545 from BCLDB Ironwood. "Best before end 2015". The usual attractive Fullers Vintage pour, clear, rich copper under a creamy, ivory head; a slight ring but no lace. Gentle aroma: malt, touch of alcohol, dark fruit. Flavour was caramel, fruity, touch of booziness, and sweet. Full-bodied mouth, and sweetish finish.

This has the flavor similar to a barleywine, but not as strong in ABV%. Not a big fan of this style, as they seem to lean on the sweeter side without that hop balance. Has a clear golden/light orange appearance. Flavors of light caramel malt, barley, with some mild fruity notes. Worth the try, but not something I would go out of my way for.
