Bottle # 32034. 10th Anniversary, best before end 2010. Looks like I missed it by three years and a bit (March 2014). Cloudy amber pour with a creamy ivory head. Some malt to the aroma, along with alcohol and dark fruit. Flavour would be much the same, not overly sweet. Smooth mouthfeel and a balanced finish. Only a bit sweet. Looks like the extra aging refined this one. Quite enjoyable.

The 2007 version fell short of the 2006 in flavour and aroma, although there was still some good colour. Still a bit too much sweetness in this one that could have been toned down a bit. Finish isn't as bitter as other years either.

I was not completely sure what to expect of this beer. The most I have ever aged a beer at 3 years, not the oldest of tasted, but the oldest I have been in charge of its cellaring. The beer was a touch cloudy, dark orange, thick greyish head. Looks quite lovely. The nose is of strong lemon juice and lime zest. Faint yeast notes and a bit of piney hops drift in and out. No trace of alcohol on the nose. The taste is much the same, getting citrus, not in an acidic jump out at you way, but in a lemonade sort of way, sweetened unconventionally, with perhaps old apple juice (clutching at straws). Wholly good and much more complex than I am describing for sure. To use a wine term, this beer is very "long", it gets all parts of the tounge on the first sip, with no bangs, just a long lovely lingering taste. There is a bit of a sour note on the aftertaste that others have not mentioned, I might attribute it to a couple years of indirect sunlight exposure, despite the dark bottle. O well, great beer!

Clear deep amber with a small grey head. Prunes, red berries, pepper, licorice, wood, nuts and spices in the aroma. Full-bodied with notes of spices, berries, plums and peppery alcohol. Long medium-bitter finish of pepper, wood, red berries, prunes and licorice. Tasty sipper.

I will be very interested and how this one taste in a few years. Smells of sugar and plum with some raisins. Pours Amber hue with a little head. Carbonation was ok but the finish was very smooth and this beer is borderline full body. Apples, plums and raisins upfront.. Yeast, warming alcohol, some hops on that back.. not too bad.. I might age one a few years!

Bottle: Poured a deep copper color ale with a huge foamy head with good retention and some lacing. Aroma consists of sweet malt with some noticeable English dry hops. Taste is also a mix between some sweet caramel and light toffee malt with some dry hops thought less then anticipated which may be due to the 8 months of aging. Body is a bit thinner then I would have hope with some great carbonation and no apparent alcohol. I don’t know why they always insist on using so much hops when this type of beer should rely on malt. A very good beer nonetheless but still not the best year overall.

Poured with a color if iced tea with decent frothy head and good lacing. This beer smells malty and sweet, to the point where i was a bit worried it would be unbalanced. I was pleasantly surprised! Rich super sweet malt, but enough spice and hop to balance this one out. This beer is teeming with the "teabag" flavor my buddy eaglefan538 refers to. Crisp and clean with no signs of diacetyl and full of English style hops. I was really digging this one.

Bottle #30941 Clear copper body with an off white cap that is quickly disappearing, this is not the look a was expecting I was hoping for something darker more thick looking maybe I’m slightly disappointed. Aroma is very yummy, wood, mild pine, some alcohol, a cherry/grape (I can’t decide which it is)smell is over all very sweet but on deep long inhales a bitter coffee is noticeable. Flavor is nice and rich, oak, some tasty alcohol, lots of cherry and just the slightest hint of pine. There seems to be a mild hint of chocolate in the finish. Its tasty and of high quality it maybe didn’t live up to my expectations of it but I would gladly drink again.

Cask@SBWF2007. Reddish amber colour, not much head. Aroma is very red wineish along with some hints of vanilla, alcohol and sweet malts. Flavour is the same with yeast, some fruits and apples and raisins. Long aftertaste of wine and earth. A bit sharpedged still, so probably need some time to smoothen up.
