Rated June 2018. 50cl bottle pours with a clear mahogany colored body that supports a nice looking near white head of foam. The aroma offers up booze infused plums, figs and some dates as well. Behind the fruitiness is a thin layer of molasses and a bit more booze. The taste delivers smooth sweet dark fruity esters like plums, figs, dark blue grape jam, a sliver of boysenberry jam and then dates all dusted and drizzled with molasses and brown sugar. Real nice sipper. Not sure this is getting better with anymore age.

2005 vintage (bottle 49140), 16.9 oz bottle. Pours murky dark amber with a medium creamy off white head that goes to a thin film and leaves some lacing.

The aroma is sweet toffee malts with sherry and wood and some fruit.

The flavor is sweet fruity toffee malts with some harsh alcohol in the finish. A bit port like. The mouthfeel is medium bodied and a little thin.

Overall, an interesting old ale. Interesting to see how it's changed over 10 years. Definitely get a lot of fruit and toffee but still a bit harsh alcohol.

Happy Birthday ME!!! THANKS JEFF!!!!! Mmmmmmmmmmm......7 year old beer. Dark clear copper with a nice off white crown floating on top, looks pretty nice. Very light aroma, sweet malty, some sour, plum, nice woody finish. THIS BE SMELLING GOOD! Taste is better, I like the way this has aged. Malty sweet with a woody oakyness. There is a nice cherry medical quality that i totally dig. Beer just took a one hour break due to gas filled baby.........Taste has not been affected. There is a flavourless bitter in the finish bit it does not linger. Mellon, vanilla, dark rum, other stuff that has flavours that i can't seem to name. I can't believe this beer aged so well, I'm glad Jeff took the time to age it properly in the beerium for 7 long years then give it to me on my birthday out of obligation!!!!! OBLIGATION RULES!!!

The 2005 version is one of the better tasting beers in the series to date. Very well balanced between the sweetness of the malt and alcohol and the bitterness of the hops. Good roasted malt and toffee characteristics complement it quite well.

Sampled bottle, RBNAG 2007 in Grimstad. ABv was 8.5%. Bottle No. 32089. Reddish amber colour. Pleasant vinous, raisiny and oaky aroma. Oaky, sweet and raisiny flavour. Very nice.

2005 #77460. Translucent orangey light brown with a thin cap. Strong raisin aroma with lemony alcohol, a hint of cherry, roasty malt, and maybe some sweet cinnamon. The flavor is balanced and bold, deep and round and harmonious: bready and very bitter, malty but surprisingly dry, with a touch of smoke. A mild trace of cherry and fruit sweetness as it warms.

Pours a dark brown-rust == Honey, malt, maple, molasses Aroma == Foam is constant low froth, some lacing == Taste is a mix of dubbel malt, honeycomb, and molasses dust == Enjoyable and intriguing == Being my first fullers vintage i am very interested in trying more of them == Not to bad of a brew considering its the lowest rated vintage....

Bottle: Poured a deep brown ruby color ale with a huge foamy head with good retention and lacing. Aroma of sweet malt with some subtle dry figs and plums notes. Taste is mostly dominated by sweet malt with some great dry fruits characteristics. The ending was slightly dry with light hops noticeable. Body was quite full and carbonation was medium with no alcohol being discernable. I really love the way English brewers are able to handle malt and I believe this was a good example.

2005 Vintage. Pours a dark amber hued brown, with a frothy one finger head that settles quickly to a soapy cap. The lacing is thick, coating most of the inside of my glass. Smell; starts out a bit spicy, with an abundance of dark fruits. Figs and dates are present as well as some hints of chocolate and caramel. Some alcohol is floating around in the background. Taste; the caramel and chocolate hit me at first, and then the dark fruits come out with figs, dates a touch of cherries. The spiciness mixes with a bit of earthy hoppiness and alcohol that gives this a bit of a scotch like quality to the finish. And there's a definite warming in the throat and stomach. Mouthfeel is medium bodied with a moderate carbonation that gives this a nice smoothness, and helps give this a dangerously high drinkability.

Bottle #26403. Well, at least it produced one terrific head, tan with excellent lacing. The colour was a dark yet clear amber, but the aroma was unremarkable, and I'm thinking this one had maybe gone a bit "off" despite being kept in a cool, dark place since purchase (Christmas of 2005); still in the box, even, Taste and mouthfeel were both thin and flat. I'm underwhelmed, and hope my Vintage 2006 is better.
