A nice bitter which has a light and pleasant aroma. It hits the tongue with a pleasant amount of carbonation. The flavor is great for a bitter and it leaves you with a flavorful but lighter aftertaste.

A reddish brown beer, looks pretty transparent, and topped with a creamy tan head. Aroma is light citrus, bread, caramel, and yeast. Thin on the tongue. Starts off tasting sweet, hints of caramel, and finishes with a hop bite.

One of the premier brewers in the world, and this is a very well done ESB. While Scandinavian and American brewers continue to try and push brewing to the edges, Fullers continues to take time tested recipes and make them just like they always have, with great results. This ESB is a perfect example, a reddish-brown pour, translucent, with rich caramel aromas complemented by a creamy tan coloured head and resinous hop aromas. The flavour is toffee and citrus. Heavenly!

Nose of bread and raisins and licorice. Medium copper body is topped by a moderate short lived head with very little lacing. Mouth is nicely slick, a bit under-carbonated and full.. Flavor is fairly complex. Tart apple, carmel malts, dark ripe fruit. Finish is slightly sweet. A very nice ESB!

Pours a very small layer of foamy off-white head. Has a golden/amber appearance. ok lacing. Aromas are pretty faint, malted barley, light roasted malts, a bit citrusy. Pretty mild. Flavours are quite malty and a bit of citrus hops. Mild sweetness and definitely bitter but not as expected. Barley malts are also noticeable. Medium carbonation. Tingling mouthfeel and also slightly watery. Pretty good, will try again.

Clear brown with huge brown foam head, lacing to glass. Aroma is malty, with some sweet fruity notes. Taste is bittersweet with light coffee note and again some citrus fruits. NOt a bad beer at all. (Velp 201301)

I had this beer on April 12, 2012 (I know I had it before but never rated it, so I am drinking it again, and rating it now). I picked this up from the Wine Gourmet in Roanoke, VA. This beer was good but a tad sweet for me. I don't know that I like the ESB as much as the other ales from Fullers. The London Pride is better in my opinion. That being said, I wouldn't kick ESB out of bed either. I love bitters/English Pub Ales - they are one of my favorite styles. Armada Ale and Best Bitter from Harvey's is still my favorite.

pours a nice orangish amber color with a nice white head, that quickly disappears. It has a wonderful aroma of carmel and orange. It has a complex flavor of malt and honey but balanced well with hop bitterness. It's no wonder that this beer has won so many awards.

This is just good beer flavored beer. Nice looking copper, super clear, foamy headed beer. Aromas of mild cider and spice with lots of malts and some earth. Flavor is classic, malty, a touch of bittering hops and really easy to drink. I could see drinking a lot of these on a regular basis.

On tap @ Bearden Beer Market. Been wanting to try this one for some time. Nice clear copper pour with a tight creamy head which leaves some lazy lacing throughout. Earthy, caramelly, very light orange in the aromas. Taste is very smooth with slightly sweet and caramel malts, hint of orange and citrus, some nutiness, and earthy English hops light bitter linger. Dry finish. Very very good ESB, very drinkable - nothing less would be expected. Glad to find some.
