Winter weather forecast for Hood River: unseasonably tropical. IPApaya, the latest in our Pub Series, blends locally grown hops with notes of papaya for a vacation in a bottle. IPApaya was born out of our interest in the tropical aromas of Northwest hops. Pale and wheat malts along with healthy additions of Equinox and Cascade hops provide the perfect golden base for the addition of papaya. The result is a refreshing IPA with the subtle essence of papaya. Tropical aromas of citrus, passion fruit, and papaya are well complemented by clean malt notes.

12 oz bottle. Pours slightly hazy straw yellow with a medium rocky white head that goes to a thin film and laces the glass.

The aroma is sweet candied tropical fruit with some perfume.

The flavor is sweet tropical fruit with a floral hop finish. The mouthfeel is medium bodied with low carbonation and is slightly watery.

    Overall, an OK fruity IPA.

Had this at Jimmy Hula's with some fish tacos. Light clearish orange appearance. Has some bold papaya flavor, but doesn't seem juicy or artificial tasting. Decent malt/hops balance. This is one that I would like to try again or grab a 6-pack of.
