It's like breakfast in a pint glass. Okay, maybe it's not exactly the best thing to have first thing in the morning, but come around lunchtime, our Oatmeal Stout makes the perfect complement to any hearty fare. This is our darkest and most intense brew, and we do it the true old-fashioned way with no shortcuts. The recipe is a closely guarded secret but we can tell you that it features Chocolate, Cara Munich III Malts with plenty of oats and an English Ale yeast strain.

I was not too excited to try this beer because when I heard the name Frank because my first thought was Frank D’Angelo. Fortunately he’s not behind the brewery. Unfortunately the beer isn’t all that good. It’s nice and dark, but the aroma and flavour is a hot mess. Too much roasted malt, and not enough of anything else.

Draught. Colour - black pour, think creamy brown head, not a lot of lacing. Aroma - roasted malt, dark chocolate, coffee, and molasses. Mouthfeel - weak for a stout, well carbonated. Flavour - sweet malty notes up front, coupled with notes of coffee and dark chocolate. This would have been an excellent stout had the mouthfeel been more full bodied.
