We originally designed Echos with the hope of presenting core qualities from our high-gravity barrel-aging program in a form that delights and surprises in its drinkability. When we first debuted this beer nearly 18-months ago, we couldn’t have been happier with how the beer hits that mark. Echos is made with a complex blend of base and specialty malts from a range of our suppliers (spanning Germany, the UK and the US), wildflower honey from Stonewall Apiary and hopped with some favorite German varietals. It’s fermented low and slow with our lager yeast and is well-attenuated. After lagering in stainless for 8-weeks we transferred a portion (~60%) to Blanton’s bourbon barrels. The stainless and oak-aged components were blended back together prior to canning last week. Leaning into the approachability and drinkability of Echos, we opted for a new 12 oz. can format. This isn’t necessarily a beer to save and split - at least not exclusively. Once again, folks can expect a relatively dry but complex beer highlighted by dark cocoa and rich barrel character
