Doused with exotic warm spices, Paranormal evokes the aromas of pumpkin pie, graham cracker crust, and the toasty aura of autumn. Pouring with an otherworldly orange glimmer, Paranormal channels the subtle blend of cinnamon, ginger, nutmeg and allspice in the spirited body of a 10% alc./vol. beer. Brewed with roasted pumpkin and spices, Paranormal’s rich mouthfeel and a slightly hazy body emerge from a realm where substance and shadow cross.

The beer pours a translucent amber colour with heavy effervescence, and a huge creamy, yet rocky light tan head which lasted a while. The aroma was definitely pumpkin pie in a glass with some bready malts thrown in as well. The mouthfeel was medium to full bodied with average carbonation. The flavour is just as the aroma would indicate….pumpkin pie in a glass. Sadly, they were unable to hide the 10% alcohol, but it’s warming the belly, and it’s cold outside. I really like the first few sips of this!

Enjoyed at the Loon. Pours a hazy deep amber colour with a light-beige head, good retention and some thin creamy lace. Beautiful nose with nutmeg, pumpkin and can even smell somewhat of a pie crust. Spicy warm taste with some mild alcohol blending with the spices. Smooth aftertaste with the spices on the tongue. The mouthfeel is slightly dry. Quite a nice warming pumpkin ale with the roasted pumpkin that balances all with the spices. Glad they made this again this year, as I missed it last year. Would buy every year.

On tap at Arrow and Loon. Pours a thin layer of head and has a fairly hazy, dark amber appearance. Weak lacing. Strong flavours of pumpkin spice almost like a pumpkin pie, nutmeg. The cinnamon is much more pronounced in the finish. Nice warm and tingly sensation on the palate. Full bodied mouthfeel. A little bit pricey but still worth it.
