This robust, dark brown ale gets its rich flavor from seven different malts and three types of hops. The addition of hand-toasted oats and a generous portion of molasses give the Pullman Nut Brown Ale an incredible smoothness and quaffability.

Floossmoor is one of my favourite brewpubs and I visit it often when I stay at my home in Chicago. This beer is a dark brown pour with a roasted malty aroma backed up with chocolate nuts. TRhe flavour is well balanced between the sweetness of the malt, and the bitterness of the hops and chocolate.

They call this one a brown ale, but the style is certainly more akin to a stout. Color is best described as black with a suspiscious, short tan head. First aroma is of licorice that then mixes well with the heavy chocolate malts. Rich, full-bodied mouthfeel. Flavor is of a mildly bitter chocolate with a lactic, chocolate milk quality in the middle. The bitterness builds towards the finish and leaves an aftertaste of a chocolate-covered espresso bean from Starbucks.

This was dark enough brown to pass for a porter in my book. Nice nuttiness, but also has a little chocolate and roast that really makes the whole thing qualify as a good porter instead of a great brown ale, but who cares. It was tasty.
