Tasted on tap at the Bistro 12th Annual IPA Festival on 8/8/09. This IPA pours a medium orange gold color from the tap. Small sized white foamy head. The aroma is malty and floral. A medium bodied IPA. The malts are caramel, fruity and sweet. The hops are floral and citrusy. Nice balance between the rye spiciness and the hop bitterness. Perhaps it needs a bit more malt sweetness. The rye really adds to the mouthfeel on this IPA. Mouthfeel is full and round. Finish is clean and smooth. Aftertaste is slightly bitter.

    22oz bottle -

Rediculously delicious IPA here. Very easy to enjoy this bomber and still wanted more, which means hopefully a trip to FireHouse in Sunnyvale will find this beer on tap. It oozes citrusy goodness, but I found no rye character. It’s okay, because the hops more than suffice for aroma. Flavor has some spicyness to it, but it’s mostly lemony/citrus hops balanced by the by-the-book caramel malts. Nearly treads on IIPA territory. Excellent beer.
