BOOM Chocolate Stout Porter is a big, rich Porter with dark malts, real un-fatted cocoa powder, house Lager yeast, and tank conditioned for twelve weeks. It boasts a thick caramel foam and a smooth chocolate taste with refreshing bitterness. Pours a dark chocolate brown a whisker above black with a nice, though not persistent, light tan head. Aroma tempts with notes of licorice, chocolate and roast malt notes. Sweet flavor has chocolate, caramel, licorice and subtle roast malt notes, not strong but still pleasing. Texture has about average fizz and viscosity, leaving a chocolaty and surprisingly hoppy finish. OK, maybe the Czechs still haven’t figured out how to brew outstanding porters, but this is certainly acceptable.

Pours dark brown/ black with a thin mocha coloured head and leaves very little lace. Dark chocolate and rusty smell. Taste is more porter than stout. Slightly burnt malt, dark chocolate, some sourness and metallic. Medium body but watery. Ok but nowt to write home about.
