Very surprisingly mild nose. Lovely medium brown to Ruby body with significant caramel colored head. Not much lace. Nice mouth Folsom coating slightly creamy significant fizz. Really like the flavor on this one. Some chocolate hints of coffee.... Brown sugar... Sweet but not cloyingly so... Bit of dark ripe fruit... Lengthy finish.

330 ml bottle, from Vinmonopolet, Nettbutikken. ABV is 6.7%. Deep ruby colour, large beige head. Malty aroma, notes of bakery, caramel and brown bread. Malty flavour too, moderately sweet, notes of caramel, Danish pastry and brown bread, hints of chocolate. Modest hops, as expected from the style. This is more of a Dark Bock than a Doppelbock, though. Nice to drink, whatever you call it.

Pours clear mahogany with a thick buff head. Aroma offers toasted malt, spice, woody hops and caramel notes. Flavor presents toasted malt, caramel, spice and woody hops. Texture delivers fair body and peppy fizz. Happy Yule.
