citrus and fruit here, with some floral notes as well. a bright and aromatic ipa that reminded me of hop sauce, and that's a good thing. ever so slightly my favorite drakes dipa of 3.

Tasted on tap at the 7th Annual Bistro Double IPA fest. This Imperial IPA pours a deep orange color. Small sized white foamy head. Aroma is malty and caramel, touch herbal and garlic? A medium to full bodied Imperial IPA. Malts are caramel, fruity and sweet. Hops are citrusy and orange, with some herbs and garlic as well. Lots of malt flavors, the hops are there and they tend to grow and build as you drink this one. Interesting. Lots of residual bitterness in the aftertaste. Nice balance. Mouthfeel is full. Finish is clean and crisp. Aftertaste is slightly bitter.

NorCal tasting Feb 07 - Another beer in the great line-up of Drakes beers. This one, while tasty, had a few things I didn't care for. A nice citrusy/piney nose that oozes hop aroma. Appearance was burnt orange in color. Mouthfeel was creamy and silk. Flavor was a bit oniony/garlicky for my taste, but that's probably the Summit hops rearing it's head. Still, it's a fantastic DIPA if you can find it.
