O’Toole’s (Milton, Ontario, Canada – 55 Ontario Street North)
592ml draught
5.0% ABV
$2.50
The beer poured a nice golden hue with an off-white head that lingered for a while. The aroma was nothing spectacular, slightly malty but long lasting. Like other ales I have tried it was slightly thick on the tongue with weak carbonation. The flavour was mild, not strong, not bitter as I had expected

This ESB was an decent experience. It was canned, and whence poured, was reddish brown in colour with a decent head. The aroma was malt and nuts, similar to a lot of English Bitters. The flavour was malty, with some brown ale hoppiness.

Nitro can is interesting as is the beer in general. Its not like any of the bitters ive tried and i've tried quite a few. I suspect its made primarily made for the export market. That being said its a decent brew. Very light on the attack, a nice caramel colour with a bit of lacing. A sweet mildness on the attack but not too much flavour. Decent Brew

Orange to amber in color with a very nice head, good solid retention, nice continuous lacing. Aroma was toffee and fruity esters. The flavor was fruity, tea bags, watery with a slight hop touch in the finish. Moderate body and carbonation noticeable.

It pours an orangeish color. It tasted good but in a very different way. Very unique taste to me. There wasn't much for mouthfeel in this beer. Overall it would be something that I would like to try again.

What a great ale, one of the best i've ever had. The pour is so rich and thick with a great head to it and the taste goes down like water, I will be purchasing this again as it is one of my favorite brews now.

Ale has a very watery taste to it, tea flavored in color with a bitter taste that leaves a very dry finish to it. Not sure if I would try this one again or not, im leaning towards not on this one.

clear orange colour, creamy white head. Smell is malty and bitter. So far so good, looks like a more promising one than Caffreys Irish Ale, but no. Once you taste this one you get the big surprise, it’s very watery and the only taste I find is a very sour one. The taste completely spoils the beer imo. It gets worse and worse the warmer it gets. Plus points for that it looks nice, and it feels good in the mouth (with taste not counted). But that’s almost the only positive things.

Nitro can! This unexpected little "bonus" created the most explosive, cascading creamy head and what impressive lacing to boot! The colour was a cloudy orange/amber, but what of the aroma. Has my nose gone dormant? Perhaps I served it too chilled and not in the traditional British method of not so cold. The taste was of coffee and perhaps some caramel.

An interesting experiment needless to say. This English bitter has a dark orange iced tea color with a nice light fluffy off white top that has an excellent inch thick leave. When you sniff, you will notice a fresh bread like aroma wafting from the mug (and this brew has it's own very nice glass mug, too!). The taste is a little hoppy, but it balances out nicely with a solid malt character as well. The real surprise comes with the finish. I don't know what it was, but the end was dry, somewhat smoky, and had a bite that reminded me of chili peppers. A highly unusual ESB, without question.
