Snowblower Ale is a rich Belgian-style pale ale brewed to 6.5%ABV with German Pils, Munich, and Vienna malts. These layers of malt goodness lay the ground work for a beer peppered with spicy yeast flavors and terrifically aromatic hop character. This beer was fermented with two Belgian yeast strains and hopped with Czech and Slovenian hops. Snowblower returns in gloriously updated fashion after a too long hiatus. Original release, 2003. 2010, re-released after the "hiatus." (Brew Pub Only).

Draft sample at SL the end of the keg, unable to get an entire growler (sad, sad). The appearance was beautiful, very nice golden color, huge honkin' head, incredible continuous to ringed Belgian lacing. The aroma was light yeast, strong pils type aromas. The flavor followed suit, lots of pils malt, light hopping, a touch of grass, light pepper, some yeast in the background. This came across almost like a fairly lesser hopped, belgian take on a pilsner, yet not really Belgian-esque. A moderate mouthfeel, very drinkable, wished I could have gotten an entire growler for the Super Bowl this weekend. Oh well.

Dogfish Head Snowblower Ale pours a golden colored body with a white head. It was crisp with a citrus and fruity flavor. It did have a slight hops kick in the finish. This isn't as bad as others would lead you to believe. I think the problem with this is that it taste more like a summer seasonal.

This is supposed to be a winter style ale. I'm surprised Dogfish would put out this poor of a product. It was thin in taste and body. I would not buy it again.

Pours a copper color with some off white head, and some particles floating around as well. Mild aroma of spice and some banana. Tart, fruity flavor included tastes of muscat grapes, candy sugar, and some bread. As it warmed, some alcohol was present and it finished dry. For some reason this kinda reminded me of the shelter pale ale... strange?

Very good Belgian-style ale Draught only. you can't even taste the ABV. Flavorful worth a try.
