1 000 swing-top bottle, as Spezialitäten Bier Wartburg zu Eisnenach, na "thür" lich süffig. Poured in a stemmed tulip glass a clear and dark, dark-ruby-brown/ deep burgundy coloured Schwarzbier with a two fingers dense, creamy and beige foamy head that had a very long retention and tons of micro bubbles. Low carbonation. Some lacing. The aroma is mild roasted malts, coffeish and nutty notes. The flavour is sweety and roasted malts, caramel and moderate bitter. The mouthfeel is deep, thick, creamy and smooth. The texture is oily. This medium bodied Schwarzbier has a dry roasted malts finish. If classified as a Schwarzbier, this Thüringer Bier looks more as,and in fact is a dark burgundy Lager. There is no relation between the high purchasing price and the feeling.

Bottle, 6% ABV, as Dingslebener Lava Schwarzbier, RBNAG 2009 in Vatlandsvåg, thanks to gunnar. Dark brown colour, moderate beige head. Malty aroma with distinct notes of caramel and bakery, a hint of cola. Relatively sweet and malty flavour with loads of caramel, just a mild roastiness. Some fruit too.
