750 ml caged and corked bottle. Poured in an English nonick pint glass an unclear and opaque dark-dark-brown, almost black, coloured Stout with a generous two fingers tan, dense, fine and creamy foamy head that had a very long retention and tons of micro bulles. Soft carbonation. Good lacing. The aroma is deep roasted malts, a light hoppy bitterness, a smoked-burnt touch and sourish notes. The flavour is aggressive sourish-bitter, roasted grainy malts, roasted coffee beans, bitter black chocolate, notes of ashes. The mouthfeel is light crispy, quite thick and bitter. The texture is watery. This medium bodied Stout has a long roasted malts and ashes finish. The continuous sourish feeling leads to a not easy drinkable Stout, brewed in the North of France, close to Calais. Il lacks the smouthness of its cousins of the near Islands.

Shared 750 ml corked and wired bottle, as Christophe Noyon Bière Noire de Slack, from Voldby Købmandsgård, Denmark. ABV 5.4%. Black colour, decent beige head. Dry roasty and ashy aroma. Dry, moderately roasty and slightly ashy flavour. The hops are too moderate, otherwise a decent dry stout.

Bottled. Very deep brown, close to black with mediumsized foamy/fluffy head. Aroma is liquorice, some mild old coffeelike sourness as well as some slight grassy and floral notes. Flavour is roasted malts, liquorice, coffee, ashes and some caramel/toffeelike notes. Actually a very pleasant Stout.
