This had a honey-wheat citrus flavor. Tasted like a cross of Corsendonk pale and paulaner hefe, but not nearly as good as either i guess....It was pale gold with a sticky head. An aroma of dry yeasty perfumes and lemony citrus......diabolical yeah it gets me drunk. Though fairly plain for belgian ale. rated by style

Not what I expected for the price, but still very good. First taste was very disheartening, since it had a bit of a wine flavor to it. I personally would rather have raw sewage in my mouth than wine, but after a few sips it started to taste very good. So if the beer taste is so good that it can overpower the horrendous taste of wine, than that has to count for something. If you like wine, then this is the beer for you. If you want to know what it looked like or smelled like, then I don't know what to tell you. I never looked at it or smelled it, well because it is BEER, what difference could it possibly make what it looked or smelled like!?

01.07.05 750ml bottle thanks to loweredsixth (Joe). I had no idea what to expect with this stuff but I was excited to try a new tripel. Pale yellow pour and a giant white head, rocky, fading to a thin film. Sticky lumps of lace coat the glass like a doily. Aromas of anise (!), lemon zest, grass, loads of spicey yeast. Flavors are right in line with aromas - spicey anise, tart grass, dry finish with pepper. Light, generic fruitiness throughout. Very nice and very drinkable though nothing extraordinary. Thanks for the rarity, Joe!

This beer at first had the taste of a double but it hit like a triple. This ale has a pleasent aftertaste and look to it. It also had the trademark Belgium head. Overall a good beer that I would buy again.

I wasn't sure what to expect from this brew. I've never heard of it before and while shopping for more brew at Trader Joe's I ran across it unexpectedly. I was glad I did, becuase I was very impressed with the overall quality of this triple. A HUGE foamy head, explosive aroma of fruit, a nice slightly cloudy yellow hue gives way to a pleasant fruity/citrus taste with little alcohol bite. It did remind me somewhat of a hefeweizen, but obviously a triple. Very recommended.

This was a rather inexpensive leap-in-the-dark, for a beer never seen/heard of before. And I quickly come to the conclusion that the Angelique is a much weaker beer, compared to the Diabolique -- perhaps finally proving that "Evil" is better than "Good", eh?
A strictly by-the-numbers Tripel -- which, IMHO, isn't such a bad thing. For a well-made Tripel after a long day at work is surely one of life's simpler pleasures. And while I can't say that this knocked my socks off, or heralded the Second Coming..., it was definately not a bad drop of beer.
Enough gumption in the mouthfeel, the alcohol, and overall drinkability to warrant another vist, me'thinks. If Trader Joes has an exclusive agreement for this beer, perhaps it can get the same reputation as the infamous Two-Buck Chuck....?
Worth a try, for a bare-bones Generic Belgian Tripel at a decent price. Recommended.

Light yellow gold color. Large white foamy head. Aroma is pears, apples, apricots and sweet. A medium bodied triple, Malts are fruity and sweet. Apricot and pear flavors dominate. Nice bright yeasts. Lively carbonation. Touch of hop bite. Fruity and refreshing; What else could you want from a triple? Nice dry finish. No sign of alcohol bite at 8.5%. Mouthfeel is full and round. Finish is clean and dry. Aftertaste is slightly sweet.

Quite a good looking ale,its a hazy bright gold with a pure white head, slightly frothy. Nice typical spicy Belgian aroma, quite fruity. The taste is very pleasant, not mind blowing, pleasant.Mostly spiciness, though has a good fruity/bitter aftertaste.Dryish finish. Pretty nicelly carbonated and feels refreshing on the palate. Not the very best beer, but very nice and extremelly drinkable..the high alcohol is barely noticed

I'm no Belgian ale expert but this is not sour or too sweet and is easy enough to drink that I really like it...better than Chimay or Duvel. It's strong and tasty and what more could you ask? This could make your nose red in short order at 8.5%. Strongly recommended.

Big fluffy head, pale orange color. Yeasty apple aroma. Full body. Citrus flavors. Well carbonated, sticky lacing. A belgian candi sweetness and finishes dry. Alcohol is not noticable at all, making it very dangerous!
