The literal translation of Dunkelweizen is “Dark Wheat Beer”. This German style is a cousin of the more common Hefeweizen style. Dunkel’s have the same banana and clove finish you’d expect from a Hefe combined with a darker malt profile. The result is a classic easy drinking style that will make you feel like you’re sunbathing on the shore of the Rhine. Prost!
