Tasted at the 13th Annual Strong Ale Fest on 12/5/2009. I am assuming this was the beer at the fest. This ale pours a medium orange gold color from the tap. Small to medium sized white foamy head. The aroma is fruity, spruce and sweet, with a touch of alcohol. A medium bodied ale. The malts are caramel, fruity and sweet. The hops are earthy. Lots of spruce flavors, oak, wood, orange and orange peel. The flavors mellow some as it warms. Interesting Christmas beer. Mouthfeel is full and round. Finish is clean and smooth. Aftertaste is slightly sweet.

If you ever wanted to smell a christmas tree in glass try this. If you ever wanted to drink a christmas tree in a glass this is your brew. If this were the summer I would bomb this brew. Considering the season, a very original brew.

This review is from notes taken a while back Ever drink a Christmas tree? Many parts are drinkable... yes, it even smells like an xmas tree (& I have a horrible sense of smell). Also, drinking it, it had a bitter finish, but not like any I had, it was a *clean* bitter finish
