Pale nose that is very floral with just a hint of pine and lemon, lightly roasted malts come through the nose after it warms a bit. Long lasting big off white head with nice lace sits atop a cooper/orange body. Mouth is full and carbonation moderate to low. Not a lot of complexity here; quite bitter with a bit more malt then most IPA's, not surprising for a NE brewer. Tastes like a New England pale ale only a bit more bitter. Mild citrus in mid taste is quickly followed by a bitter finish and just a touch of funk and butter afterwards...New England all the way. Alcohol at 6% is well masked but there is a touch of warming at the end. Heck of a session brew for the hops-inclined.

Smell is little bit Northern Brewer, some earthy and resinous hops. Slight pine, seems faded. Malty but seems a touch watered down. It did travel in my parents car across the states un-refrigerated for a month so this may have affected the beer. Slight skunk.

A beer of the month club offering for June/July 2010. Pours a slightly hazy amber, brief head. Flavor is a nice rough and tough bitter IPA style brew. Not strongly grapefruit, but never the less tasty. Worthy of a repeat performance .
