Our first ever Berliner Weisse is jam-packed with lime juice, lime zest and fresh ginger. Ultimately refreshing with the combination of lime and fresh ginger makes this brew a tart and light Berliner Weisse.

Lightly hazed, light golden-yellow colour with a big frothy white cap, dissipates quick enough with not much lace. Lots of ginger in the nose with mild lime in the background. There is something else in there that takes a lot of space. Like, maybe the peel of the fresh ginger, so a little nutty and earthy - but nice all-around. The taste has a little of this, but mostly the lime over the ginger. Tarty mouthfeel in the finish, that lingers. Quite sour in the mouth, as a Berliner should be. A very nice combination between the ginger and lime, as oppose to the sweeter rich raspberries.

Can from LCBO. Pours a huge foamy white head that sticks around for quite awhile, has a clear straw coloured appearance. Excessive carbonation. Aromas are floral, grassy and notes of lime. Flavours of citrus zest, lime and ginger is quite noticeable, some grass and herbal notes as well. Quite a lot of sourness and a bit of a tangy mouthfeel. Also fairly dry in the finish. Pretty good sour beer, could probably only do the one though and move on.
