Big hops and big malt combine for a unique balance in this somewhat unusual IPA. The aroma is reminiscent of ruby red grapefruit and pine. The flavor is a burst of grapefruit with a smooth bitterness, complimented by caramel, slight licorice, and toast with honey.

Aroma: 7 | Appearance: 8 | Mouthfeel: 6 | Flavor: 8 | Overall: 7
From Central City, in a bomber. First beer from this new brewery. Poured a clear amber under a smallish, ring-producing, ivory head. Aroma was a good balance of hops, pine, and some citrus notes. For sure a promising start. Unfortunately, things fell aprat with the mouthfeel, not near substantial enough, almost thin. Flavour was happier, reflecting the aroma, with a tart grapefruit finish. Mouthfeel did toughen up a bit at about the two-thirds mark, but still, I'd rate this one higher only it had a little more body from the outset.
