Black brown colored pour, tight tan head, nice lacing. Dark chocolates, molasses, SMOKE, hint of java nice earthy hops presence all abound in this rich and satisfying Imperial Stout. Thanks for sharing Joy.

Another great brew from Clown Shoes. And this may be my second favorite Imperial Stout I've ever drank. 100% black with zero bitterness and great flavor. It's hard to find at my closest retailer I guess because it's so good they are always sold out.

Pours a pitch black with a one finger chocolate colored head that goes down fairly quickly. Aroma consists of dark malts, chocolate, and a little booze. Lacing is at a minimum. Taste is moderate with strong hints of milk chocolate, dark roast malts, and noticeable booze. First sip has a strong metal taste to it but starts to lighten up but does not go totally away. Finishes off sticky and slightly sweet. Good sipper.

22 oz bottle. Pours dark brown black with a small tan head that goes to a thin film and laces the glass.
The aroma is roasted chocolate malts, some honey and a little cardboard.
The flavor is sweet chocolate malt with a lot of roast (bitter with some coffee) and a little vinous alcohol. The mouthfeel is medium bodied with low carbonation.
Overall, a decent imperial stout. -

A very straight forward and well made imp but by no means even close to the big boys. Nice looking black beer with thick brown head, slight aroma, decent body, and a mix of flavors that are mostly roast and anise. Very well made for sure.

10% ABV- I sampled this a couple weeks after the Chocolate Sombrero. Even though this is higher in ABV%, the alcohol seems better hidden. Found this to have more flavor, such as richer chocolate malt, without the spices and excess smoke. As much as I love sweet stouts and chocolate malt, this was actually a bit too sweet, but still very drinkable and smooth for a 10-11%. Reminded me of a lighter version of DFH Worldwide Stout. I may buy another one of these to age a year or two...then re"vamp" things....no pun intended.

A little light in color for an imperial stout, otherwise pretty great all around. The addition of smoked malt to the already complex stout takes this up a notch. Cofee, cocoa , bittersweet and slightly smokey. Nice brew.

Woah! This is fantastic! Pours black with a tan foamy head. Hints of wonderful goodness including but not limited to chocolate, smoke, licorice, more coffee, and so on. All around terrific I can't recommend it enough.

Strong, smoky aroma has notes of licorice, quality coffee and molasses plus a hint of semi-sweet chocolate. Pours a deep, warm sable with a thick and fine-bubbled tan head that leaves some generous lacing. Lip-smacking smoky flavor has firm chocolate, coffee, molasses and toffee notes with hints of licorice and caramel. It is somewhat sweet, but not overly so. Smooth texture has above-average body and a decent amount of fizz that leaves a fairly persistent tingle in the mouth and on the lips. I'm a big stout lover, and this is now on my list of faves.

A great price for a good beer. This one a jet black in color. Medium light tan foamy head rises bries briefly above. Settles into a thin ringlet. A warm hearth smokiness with bitter chocolate in the profile. Full bodied, moderate carbonation and tar like feel.
