Rated in Jan. 2011. Poured up on tap at Cigar City with opaque yet pure gold body and modest size bright white head. The aroma is full up sweet estery banana and cloves (like a 55 gallon drum of ripe bananas) followed by a mix of apples, apricot and pear as well as an unmistakable yeastiness. The taste has milder banana notes than the nose and mixing with clove spice running into various cooking spice notes that I can’t put my finger on. Between the various spices and banana are both an interesting funky moldy fruitiness and a bit of black pepper. Notes of funk and pear like fruitiness grow into the finish with mild yet growing tartness that dries this thing out a bit.
