Our original brew, (some just call it “Church-Key”.) This Stock Ale was designed to be a throw back to the tavern ales of the 40’s and 50’s. Crisp, light palette with a dry citrus finish.

Purchased a 6-pack of this at the LCBO. Pours a slightly hazy golden colour with a little amber hue. Average size white cap that disappears quickly but leave a creamy top and lacing around the glass. Grainy nose with some bread notes. Slightly crisp, slightly watery mouthfeel and medium-bodied. Cereal malt taste with hints of caramel in the finish. Not much hops found, but this is what makes this "stock ale" refreshing and a great session brew.

I tried this beer on tap on August 12, 2011 at "C'est What" in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. The beer was translucent dark gold, with a thin white creamy head. The aroma was grainy malt, some floral hops, and some sweetish notes. The mouthfeel was medium bodied with medium carbonation. The flavour was grassy malts, some milky sweetness, and a yeasty taste. I've generally enjoyed Church-Key brews, but this isn't one I dig all that mightily!

Aroma of slight hops and spices. Semi-hazy golden body with some slight white cap, average retention. Flavour profile is very lite with little malt but a touch of sweetness and spices. Starts slightly bitter, moves to the sweet taste, and then finishes with another slight bite. Excellent mouthfeel, smooth and even a bit creamy. Fairly lite but not watery, it would be an excellent session ale.
