Aroma smell exactly like A & W's Cream Soda, nice start.. Deep brown colored body, with a thin light beige cap that leaves the occasional spot or two of lace. Flavor was a bit of a let down from the aroma, faint cream soda, toffee and caramel. All were rather faint. Overall it didnt taste bad its just that the flavors never really stood out.

Rich dark mahogany coloured pour. Head dissipates quickly but keeps a thin cap. Sweet aroma and flavour. A little too sweet I think. Lots of caramel and toffee. With char and some hops.Medium body. Nowhere near as sticky or as good as the real thing.

Too low a percentile on rb and too high on here. I thought this was good and exactly as advertised, do some of the lowball scores make no sense, but to each his own. A nice looking mahogany pour. Aroma and flavor heavy with toffee but balanced with some earthy hops, with a lighter body that prevents it from being cloying. Won't get a lot but I'll have it again I'm sure.

Pours out root beer colored with a white head that disappears quickly. The aroma is of burnt sugar I guess that's the toffee. The mouthfeel hits the front of the tongue with vanilla and the back of toffee. The flavor is interesting not sweet and balanced well with malt.

I picked this beer up from the Wine Gourmet in Roanoke, VA. Let's get one thing out of the way first - this is NOT an Extra Special Bitter. It's more like a spiced ale. This beer smelled like toffee, caramel, and confectionary sugar. The flavor tracked the aroma to a tee - it tasted like a booze infused Sugar Daddy. A tad too sweet for me, but worth the shot.

Pours a dark, translucent chestnut with a fairly thick and somewhat persistent light tan head. Caramel and toffee dominate the aroma, but let through a hint of malt - a little cloying, more like a candy bar than a beer. Flavor is again heavy on the caramel and toffee, but not as sweet as the aroma; more roast malt gets through, as well as some hops and a hint of hay. Texture is smooth, viscous and somewhat fizzy. Finish is a bit on the sweet side, but not off-putting. Makes a good dessert beer. Have it instead of a transfat-laden cake or banana split!

This was better than the banana bread, but didn't quite wow me. Pretty much a sweet brown ale with sugar and toffee flavors. Texture is a little thin. Could be balanced better. Sort of like a cross of a sweet brown ale and ESB. Glad they are distributing the 4-packs though cause these seem too pricey, especially for the pints.

A deep richly dark mahogany colored beer with a big frothy textured, light beige head rising above. There's good hang time on the head. It settles eventually into splotches of thick film and a ringlet. Strong toffee, candiness in the nose and tasting. Balanced in the tasting with some roastiness and bitter grassy hops. Light-medium bodied, effervescent.
