12.10.05 Hand bottled by whaleman, brewed by Erway, RLB YEHA-05, breakfast on sunday. Still a third of a bottle left but the cap made a resounding pop when I opened it and the beer poured with decent head so I took out the notebook and away we go.Big hopped up nose with heaps of resin, grapefruit pith, pitch, caramel. Slightly thin bodied, but that’s a great match with the hoppier style. Ashy and even a bit chalky. Peat hints smooth out the finishing astringency. Pithy bite to close the deal. Nice stuff.

Poured an opaque black color, with a small, tan head, that left nice lacing on the glass. Aroma of roasted malt, chocolate, smoke and lots of citrus hoppiness. Taste of chocolate, roasted malts, vanilla bean, and light hoppiness as well. Really nice stout.
