Tournay Noire is a beer, refermented in the bottle, with an alcohol content of 7,6%. It contains only natural ingredients: water, four malts, two hops, yeast and sugar. We select special malts and very traditional hops to give it a powerful, long flavour in the mouth and a quite a strong hint of bitterness. This is a beer that will really appeal to Stout lovers!!

November 2016: Shared bottle at local tasting. ABV 7.6%. Black colour, beige head. Dusty and grainy aroma, a hint of vanilla and mild coffee, some liquorice. Fairly well balanced flavour, some chocolate and mild coffee.

Aroma has a strong smoky tone with coffee and molasses components and hints of caramel and nuts. It pours a deep sable with a respectable, if not thick, light tan head. Flavor is smoky and has unsweet chocolate, roast coffee and molasses tones with a hint of caramel. Texture is fairly smooth, not as thick as most stouts, and just a little tingly.

Bottled@The 1st Vaasa CS/ES beer session (thanks WK). Very deep ambery brown colour, close to black, mediumsized beigeish brown head that leaves nice lace. Aroma is roasted malts, some slight caramel as well as some mild spicing and yeastyness. Flavour is strongly malty (roasted and caramel with also some slight breadyness), mildly fudgelike notes as well as herbs and some slight nuttyness. Pleasantly balanced.

Bottle: Poured a medium black color ale with a large off-white head with good retention and some lacing. Aroma of light roasted malt with Belgian malt and some light DMS. Taste is also dominated by lightly sweet Belgian malt with some lightly roasted malt and some overcooked vegetables which is not strong enough to ruin this beer but not very pleasant either. Body is somewhat full with great carbonation and no alcohol is showing. Interesting take on the style but too flawed to try on a regular basis.
