C47 is brewed from a gravity of 16.0 Plato (1064), producing an alcohol content of 7.0 per cent by volume (5.6 by weight). Color is 30 EBC; bitterness 35 BU. The basis of the grist is Pilsener malt. This is grown and malted in Denmark, in the southern part of the island of Sjaelland. A caramel malt from Germany is also used. There are two hop additions. The bittering hops include several varieties, as both extract and pellets. The brewery declines to disclose the variety of aroma hop, except to say that (unsurprisingly) it is European. A Carlsberg yeast, derived from Hansen's original, is used.

Clear amber with small off-white foam head. Aroma is sweet caramel, with some grass notes. Taste is bit sweet, but not bad. Aftertaste short lasting, little bitter. (Medelby 201307)

I love the logo on the can, "possibly the world's greatest lager." What confidence. Needless to say, the bar has now been set pretty high. And as expected Carlsburg fails in every category. This beer is a downright nasty eurolager. It is a sweet, foamy grain bomb. I would say that it reminds me of Little Kings, but that is an insult to Little Kings.

This beer was plain awful - right up there with Heiny and the mass produced American lagers. The bottom line is this, the beer gets a 5 overall b/c it was free on my 6.5 hour British Airways flight to London and it got me ripped. Nuff said!

sweetish nose, with a slightly bitter mouthfeel and taste, with some tight carbonation. not a great beer, but not horrible either. overall, not something i'd search out again.

pours a clear golden-amber colour; almost no foam remaining; aroma of fruit candy (strawberry, apricot); very sweet and medium-bodied, no bitterness; strange bubblegum aftertaste of licorice and anise, the whole thing packed in some aggressive dryness - this beer really does not work for me

330 ml bottle, bought in Denmark. Not bad - not outstanding. Amber colour, malty sweetness in aroma and flavour, not very complex, a drinkable Christmas beer but no masterpiece.

the color is medium amber with a red shadow to it, the head is 1/4 finger and fades fast leaving a little bit laces, the aroma is very malty with a little sweetness and some fruits, and the taste is initially bitter with alcohol and leaves quite a lot of hops in the end, the feel is quite broad and strong

Nice reddish-orange color to the beer with a light head. Very malty with some firm hop bitterness make this a great beer in my opinion. It's like they took the original Carlsberg, added some nicer coloring, a bit more malt and a bit more hops. Very tasty - a great, flavorful beer.
