This beer is a salute to the ingenuity and creativity of the American craft brewers. A uniquely American style of beer, the Double or Imperial IPA, has become the calling card of many craft brewers who aren’t afraid to push the limits of what hops can add to a beer. This beer is big and hoppy - not for the faint of heart! Be prepared to experience sensory overload as you savor this Imperial IPA. Really strong nose of grapefruit and orange and pepper with a hint of the grain bill coming through.Lovely looking brew, very clear pale amber body toped by skim coat that lingers and leaves moderate lace. Mouth has great carbonation and is slippery and fullish. Nice complex flavor with alcohol playing a large roll. VERY bitter, the citrus in the nose is not as present in the taste, maybe some vanilla, lots of resin, and some rawish grain, perhaps the best Imp IPA i have had, wish I knew the ABV, its up there! Not rerating it yet but very different now in 2014. Boy not clear but foggy, sour taste, not sure but might be bad bottle.

didn't know Cappie did any beers hop forward so happy to get to try this .. . gold, decent head, great mop lacing .. . citrus, sap and squashed flower .. . i'm very badly burned .. . A nice change of pace and quite well done from a brewer that usually doesn't to the bitters .. . you shot me! you shot me right in the arm!!
