From the PfoxyJohn himself. Nearly clear copper pour, slight head, spotty lacing. Caramel malty aroma with an ample dose of the German hops, whiskey. Taste is doppelbock goodness: caramel malt sweetness, German hops, slight grassiness, whiskey-like alcohol, light stinging bitter from hops and alcohol, not overpowering though. Thank you John for my first beer of Lent, although I don't stop drinking any particular style during this time, just figured this was a very good place to start.

Can't believe I haven't rated this yet! Anyway, had this by the very generous pfoxyjohn today at John's barrn. Pours a cloudy dark copper. Decent sized beige head. Aroam is sweet, boozey yet enticing. Taste is malted, sweet, boozelike and spicey.

Smells fairly sweet, some carmelly maltiness. Color is a deep auburn, clear with a light, dense head. The sip has a subtle, gentle carmel flavor with a lingering medium bitterness. It's a very smooth sip with a tight bite following.
