A amber-copper colored beer with a three fingered sudsy textured off white head rising above. There's some hang time on the head. A thin ringlet is left. Sweet caramel maltiness in the nose. Some grassy hops thrown in in the tasting. Smooth rich body.

My first sample from Capital. I know that they can do better than this. Way sweeter than what I expected for this style. Almost like a Strong Ale or Imperial Marzen. Aroma of sourish/tart fruit and caramal malt. The feel is smooth, which helps with the drinkability, and there is some decent flavor here...though per $, I think I would go with a Spaten Optimator over this. Looking forward to sampling more from this brewer, as they recently started making their way to FL.

When I drink Gray's and Sprecher I often get the feeling that I have found a pop that someone turned into beer (granted a really good pop). The only exception to this is Sprecher's amber. What's this got to do with this review, while I find this very tasty, I still get that homemade pop taste from this one, like someone was cooking the malt over the campfire, like Sprecher's does this. Are you sure Sprecher's didn't?

Crisp, strong aroma has a malty core with an underpinning of honey, cinnamon and cloves. Pours a clear, dark copper, almost mahogany, with a fairly thick light wheat head. Malty flavor has firm earthy, caramel, and honey tones with just hints of spice and wood. Texture has decent body and fizz, leaving an earthy, slightly woody finish and a persistent tingle. Happy Autumn!

I love me a good doppelbock and this one is a nice example generously given to me by the Wisconsin Beer Mafia. All the right traits are included from the upfront malty sweetness to the clean yet filling body all the way through the sturdy finish. A hefty brew that alludes to a delicate nature providing ample amounts of caramel sweetness, aged plums and some dark berries. Clear mahogany color with a diminishing head that ultimately becomes a ring around my snifter. A sweet floral perfume to the nose that is enticing from start to finish. A very nice late Autumn sipper.

A very good beer for Oktoberfest, lots of flavour. A cloudy pour, rust in colour, with a thin head. The aroma is caramel malt, some roasted malt, fruits, and spices. Flavour is a little on the sweet side, replete with coffee and plum notes, and a refreshing finish.

Thanks to BeerHunter for this one. Pours a clear brownish-red with a medium white head. Aroma of primarily yeast and malts. Not a bad beer but I was hoping for a bit more sweetness.

Thank you pfoxyjohn for this bottled Wisconsin goodness. Pours a deep clear amber with a thinnish head and some lacing. A little carbonation. Aromas are of sweet ripe fruits, caramel and toffee, roasted malts and hops which is enhanced as the drink warms a little. Taste is sweet, smooth and rich with a slightly toasted malt with caramel and ripe fruits then some hops and alcohol.
