Hefeweizen? Yeah right. More like run of the mill American wheat. You’d think brewers who made beer for a living would realize that for certain styles, the correct strain of yeast worked at the correct temperature range is essential. California ale yeast will not make a hefeweizen no matter how hard you try. The yeast byproducts are just too much a part of the style. Hazy gold with a small head. Slightly hoppy with grass and berries. (I actually like the hops they use in their beers). Ok wheat malt body. Bit of bitterness. Kind of just sits there and does nothing.

The aroma is fruity with some yeast and a bit sour. The appearance is cloudy but relatively clearer than most other wheat beers but nonetheless is yellow in color with some orange overtones with a white head that virtually disappears. The mouthfeel is light and crisp with some complexity but not as much as other wheat beers. The flavor is yeasty with some floral and fruit ovetones but a bit thin and watery with a aftertaste that can be described as a bit sour. Overall, a unique wheat beer and not like others I have had but is a welcome change of flavor to experience.

Interesting twist on a wheat beer. Apperance is yellowish/orange. Aroma is a mixture of fruit, hops, and bread. Flavor is quite sharp and dry with a nice hop bite. There is some wheat taste showing but its pretty tame. Slightly sour aftertaste. Im not a fan of wheat beers but this one is a little more my speed.
