The beer was first brewed in St. Louis by brewmaster Jim Bicklein and was developed in collaboration with brewmaster Katie Rippel from Fort Collins, Colo. “The original Budweiser brewery is, of course, here in St. Louis, so we wanted to honor our brewing heritage with a beer that uses ingredients that German immigrants, like our founder Adolphus Busch, would have used when they came to the United States,” Bicklein said. “In this pilsner we use the same types of Hallertau and Tettnang hops commonly used in St. Louis during the late 1800s.

Not a bad beer, not good either. Aromas of grass, and old malts, flavor is the same as well. Mouthfeel is not as crisp as a regular pils, mid yellow body thin head, no lace.

I'll try anything once, and lately I've really been enjoying beers on the cheaper side of things. Dark Twinkie yellow, tastes like any other Pilsener...slight grass hops and a thin malt balance. Not spectacular, but totally drinkable.

This one was almost identical to the bourbon barrel lager, but with much less flavor if that's even possible. Finger nail polish and rubbing alcohol in the nose. Flavor is bland and lifeless, like drinking note paper that's been liquified somehow. Crap.
