500 ml capped bottle, bought at the brewery. Poured in the original Hofmann Bavarian Seidel a clear burgundy-brown coloured Dunkel with a two fingers beige foamy head that had a long retention and tons of micro bubbles. Sustained carbonation. Good lacing. The aroma is roasted malts, caramel, roasted coffee beans, notes of dark chocolate. The flavour is roasted malts, biscuits, caramel, dried fruits, nuts, spicy, hints of licorice. The mouthfeel is light crispy and intensively malty. The texture is quite watery. This light to medium bodied Dunkel has a long roasted malts finish. A Dunkel right on the roasted way, very tasty and refreshing. I like it.

it's a dark brown color with a fine creamy foam, it smelled caramel, malt and grany.in mouth I found malt and nuts, a little caramel, and yes i found metallic flavour. a little biterness in the end of toast, nice strong.

Fränken Bierausflug, Day#1, Brewery#4, Beer#7. Rather than the 'Export' moniker of the bottled version of this brew, vom Faß it is known as 'Hofmann Hofmannstropfen Dunkel'. A translucent dark brown with a creamy tan head. No nose to speak of, with a lively, spritzy mouthfeel. Dark roasted malt flavor with a firm hop bitterness. The finish is lively, too, with great interplay between the malt and the hops. Not exactly well-blended or well-balanced; rather, exhibiting bold character.

Bottled. Amber colour, small beige foamy head. Aroma is caramel malts, some nuts, grass and slight sugaryness. Flavour is caramel malts, some fruits and slight metallic notes. Quite pleasant. Bready malts in finish as well as slight roasted notes.
