Pours a dark brown colour with a fizzy head that disappears almost instantly, leaving nothing. Particles are floating around, saving the look of this one. The nose is nice, with well-balanced minty hops, chocolate malts, roasted malts and hints of anise. Flavours of roasted malts with the hops showing up in the finish. Grass and light bitterness balanced by the alcohol. The licorice does show in the aftertaste, lingering. A pretty interesting Imperial Black IPA. Goes down nicely.

Pours a frothy brownish head and has a murky brown appearance with a bit of sediment clearly visible. Huge malty and earthy hop aromas. Flavours of caramel, roasted malts, hops, and quite a bit yeasty as well. A little bit of molasses in the finish. Slick and oily mouthfeel. Pretty good and not as strong or bitter as expected.
