as a pilsner? possibly the best i’ve ever had. as a beer, lacking the wow factor that my favorites have, but supremely drinkable and expertly balanced pilsner malt and generous saaz hops. if it were only reasonably priced, i;d drink it all the time.

A really nice gift from the fellas from Kansas. Dansting, Caddylac, Timmyk and everybuddy else from the crew. I finally opened this up tonight as I sat down to rest and it really was tastey. I've found that the Imp pilseners (when they're good) really satisfy my palate. Otherwise the pils itself is something I don't really care for. Bright clear golden with a huge-ass head. Frothy as hell, but once it got a couple fingers thick I tested it out. Aroma was pretty average, in fact I didn't relaly like it. But Mouthfeel was perfect. Full, creamy and spritzy. A very lively feel. Taste was clean, lemongrass, super soft and no hint of corn or unbalanced malt whatsoever. Really stellar. Thanks fellas!

Sampled on 3/5/2010. This Imperial Pilsner/European Strong Ale pours a slightly hazy orange gold color from a 750ml bottle. Medium to large sized white foamy head. The aroma is fruity, cereal and sweet, orange and orange peel. A medium to full bodied Imperial Pilsner. The malts are fruity and sweet, some cereal and some orange peel. The hops are spicy and herbal. Nice carbonation. Good balance. Kind of fruity for an Imperial Pilsner, might be the yeast. Did they use an Orval Yeast? Hides the alcohol well. Mouthfeel is full. Finish is clean and smooth. Aftertaste is slightly bitter.

hey marge! surfs up!! ..drank March 13th 2010 @ 6:30pm .. . Pours a medium gold yellow, high spritz .. . good sturdy white fluffy egg white beaten head .. . named him Terrance, then killed him and hollowed him out and made an ashtray .. medium to light bitterness, very simple but has an underlining quality .. . is this scotch tape? oh you drunk .. . just a touch of saaz, some light light honey, some water cracker .. . i never picked up an illegal alien at home depot to take home and choke me while i touched myself.. . A very nice brew that would sell very well in spring/summer if it was half the price, and it needs more Orval-like qualities ..she's such a butthole.

A nice hazy yellow body with a nice head that left some decent lace. Aroma of pilsner malts, with some very faint hops. Average mouthfeel, some carbonation with a long, dry finish. Flavor of the pilsner malts, again the hops were very faint. Like Beav stated" i didnt really care for all the parts individually of the beer, but overall it was nice." A bit pricey for what it was.

750ml bottle. Pours a clear fizzy light yellow gold with a big meringue-like white head that retains well and laces the glass.
The aroma is soft - some musty yeast, a little fruit and metallic hops. As it warms, some sweet honey and floral hops come out that are much more appealing.
The flavor is sweet, slightly vegetal, malts with a dry musty finish that has some metallic noble hops. The mouthfeel is medium bodied with smooth carbonation.
Overall, pretty simple and restrained for an 8% beer. I didn't really care for all the parts individually of the beer, but overall it was nice. A bit too expensive for a repeat buy at that level though at $13.
