Working on a winter seasonal, our brewers fell through the Looking Glass and found themselves staring right in the bloodshot eye of a penguin gone bad. Bigger, bolder and with even more attitude than Igloo Ale, the smooth, spiced, high gravity Killer Penguin Strong Ale puts the

Tried the 2005 vintage of this barleywine. ABV is now 10% and it is aged 6 months before being shipped. Pours a clear brown with a then tan head. Aroma is sweet and fruity with hints of alcohol. Flavor is malty with a camel undertone. Slight taste of alcohol. Bought two bottles and am going to cellar the other one and see how it is in a year or two.

Clear copper color with an aged, spicy aroma. The taste is what it is all about. Caramel, oak, light smoke, malt and dried fruits are all apparent. This is one that will age very nicely as I guess the last batch was a while ago.

This brew pours with a clear amber body topped by a medium thick head with great lacing. The aroma is slightly sweet and malty with nice caramel notes and great hoppy notes, as well as, alcohol esters. The flavor is bitter and hoppy with a slight sweetness, a touch of caramel and a little alcohol. Full bodied and smooth.

Parking garage of Holiday In Express, 13th and Walnut... Copper color with a small off white head and some lacing. Aroma of cinnamon spice, caramel malts, and even some light fruits. Taste was much of the same as the aroma, with just a little bit of alcohol as well.
