Boon Geuze Mariage Parfait has an alcohol content of 8%. It consists of 95% mild lambic, aged at least three years and specially reserved for this purpose, and 5% young lambic. The latter provides the fermentable sugars and wild yeasts. After mixing in a vessel of 25,000 litres, the wort (unfermented mixture) is filtered and chilled. If we are bottling, we bring it back to fermentation temperature. The bottles are placed in a climate-controlled space for the secondary fermentation. This is followed by maturing at low temperature for at least 6 months. Want to know the bottling date? Simply subtract 20 years from the “best before” date! A cloudy golden orange pour, some thin white bubbles make up the cap on this. The aroma is funk, yeast, vinegar, and tart fruit. The flavour is quite tart with hints of fruit, funk, and yeast. Not as good as the regular Gueuze, but solid nonetheless

Pours slightly hazy amber with a thick but effervescent eggshell head. Crisp, malty aroma has a strong overtone of sour apple and pear. Dry flavor is strong and fairly tart, but not make-your-face-do-aerobics tart, just enough to tickle the palate. Notes of pear, malt and even butterscotch provide backup notes. Texture has firm body, if not much fizz. "Geuze" down well on a hot, sticky day.

"Best before 2027" printed on the label; gotta love that! Light hazy golden pour, bubbly head, ample lacing. Very carbonated. Funked tart lemons and SweetTarts, yeasty and zesty, pears, oaky woodsiness, more sour and tart but mild overall. Very flavorful and refreshing. 2007 Bottled version.

Stronger and just a little more darker orange golden than most. Stinky cheese and lemons the main players, light olive, heavy carbonation. Good, not quite great....

Hazy golden yellow with small white foam head. Aroma is sour, real geuze. Taste is quite sparkling sour, little bitter, little citrus. Short fresh aftertaste, dry. (Velp 201302)

2008 Vintage pours a super cloudy burnt orange color with not a ton of carbonation, the head dissipates quite quickly but it is easily roused. Nice consistent flow of carbonation from the bottom of the glass, although its quit hard to see through the cloudiness. The aroma was mild orange peel, lemon grass, hay, maybe some apple, slightly vinegary. The taste was pretty light tartness for the style. It has an orange/apple and lemon cider like flavor. The oak is present but not heavy and white grape skins finish out the flavor. The mouthfeel is lightboided and fantastic, it has a very spritzer-esque, the tartness combined with the carbonation really dance on your tongue.

It's been a while since I had my last gueze. This was nice for the christmas tasting, but I've had much better. Pours a bright, cloudy golden orange colour. Aroma is sour, yeast, citrus, and tang on the nose. Taste is flavorful. Sourness is full and firm, but not over the top. Very spritzy mouthfull.

MY first Geuze!!!! 2007 vintage puchased from Beermongers Portland. Not as sour as I was expecting. Not very yeasty either which I am very happy about! Lost of tart flavours going on, apples, under ripe pear, under ripe tree fruits in general. Some neat barnyardiness, something wild, and floral, like pink flowers (I know nothing about flowers). Dry like champagne, nearly bracingly so. Something like dry cider. Really well enjoyed, a whole new beer experience for me. Really not sure how to assign numbers, this is such a different beverage from normal beer ever more than some 25%+ beer.

12.7oz bottle, probably bought about 2 years ago. Pours a clear dark golden with a huge fizzy pillowy white head that retains well and leaves very little lacing.
The aroma is sweet fruits and acidic tartness with some stinky musty yeast.
The flavor is subdued - sweet fruits with a dry metallic note and some tart slight sourness. As it warms, the fruity tart sourness dominates. The mouthfeel is light to medium bodied with some sharp carbonation.
Overall, I liked this. It's a bit thin and subdued in the flavor but I like what's there.
